Mangalore: Minister Ramanath Rai stresses on empowerment of Madivala community

Mangalore, 3 Feb 2014: ‘The people hailing from Madivala community had to make efforts to get rid of its inferiority complex and avail the state benefits that are applicable to other backward communities.  Madivala Sangh had to take bold steps in educating the community and work for their econocal empowerment,’ said Dakshina Kannada (DK) district in-charge and state forests, ecology and environment minister B Ramanath Rai.

 
The minister Ramanath Rai was speaking after inaugurating the 75th anniversary of Madivala Sangh and convention of Madivala community organized by DK district Madivala Sangh at Nehru maidan here on Sunday February 2.

 
The minister Rai stressed that Madivala community has to make their presence in state politics in order to voice their grievances.

 
Speaking on the occasion, the state health minister U T Khadar said, ‘The Madivala community has contributed a lot to society; the sacrifices of religious leaders and community elders are a role model to us. We need to learn from the experiences of great personalities and the elderly who are an asset to the society,’ said minister Khader.

 

 
Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar Kateel released ’Paavade’, Kannada book authored by Dr Vamana Nandavara on the same occasion.

 
MP Nalin Kumar lauded the contributions of Pandu Kodialbail, veteran of Madivala community to Madivala Sangh.  He hoped the Sangh bolsters the strength of community in every way.

 
DK district Madivala Sangh president Prakash B N, Mangalore south MLA J R Lobo, Suratkal MLA Moideen Bava, Dr Vaman Nandavara, Professor Chandrakala Nandavara, Shamala S Kundar, C Nanjappa, H S Venkatesh IPS, Monappa Salian Bejai, Prakash B Salian, Devendra Bunnan, Shubha Dayananda Gujaran, Shivaram Kundar, Dharmendra Katipalla, Krishna Kallodi, Uday Salian, Tukaram Madivala and others were present on the occasion.
