Udupi: Parichaya – Pamboor to organize three days Natakotsav from Jan 24 to 26

Udupi, Jan 20, 2014 : Parichaya, an organization striving to promote native culture, literature, folk-art and music in the rural areas located at Pamboor, near here will be staging three-day Natakotsav (3 different dramas in 3 languages) , as part of annual day celebrations, at Holy Cross parish ground, Pamboor, near here from Friday January 24 to Sunday January 26.


Professor K G Manjunat of MSRS College, Shirva will inaugurate the Natakotsav here at 6.00pm on Friday.


Fr Paul Rego, parish priest of Holy Cross parish, Pamboor will grace the occasion.


Madtir Bhagat Singh, Konkani play by playwright Arun Raj Rodrigues and directed by Satish Ninasam will be presented by the artistes of Kalakul, Konkani’s only drama repertory in Mangalore will be staged on Friday January 24 evening.


Nagamandala, Tulu play originally by Dr Girish Karnad, translated to Tulu by Katyayini Kunjibettu, directed by Raviraj H P will be presented by the artistes of Rangabhoomi ® Udupi on Saturday January 25 at 6.30pm.


The valedictory function will be held at 6.00pm on Sunday January 26, presided by Professor Vincent Alva, honorary president of Parichaya.


The renowned theater artiste Professor Udyavar Madhav Acharya will be the chief guest of the occasion.


Fr Paul Rego will grace the occasion.


Marana Mrudanga, Kannada play by playwright and director Rajendra Karant, Bangalore will be presented by the artistes of Rangabhoomi ® Udupi.  The play has bagged first prize in the state-level drama competition.
