Udupi: Raghupati Bhat - Heeding to Pressure from Supporters, Changes Mind to Contest Upcoming Assemb

Udupi, 31 Mar 2013: MLA Raghupati Bhat who announced not to contest the upcoming assembly elections on Thursday March 28, as soon as his alleged sex CD emerged in the media, has changed his mind on Saturday March 30 that he will contest in the elections if party bosses ask him to do so.

 

When MLA Bhat who was in state capital since Thursday arrived in his residence Karamballi, near here on Saturday March 30, a large number of his supporters gathered in front of his house and urged him to contest in the upcoming assembly elections. The supporters alleged that the alleged sex CD was a trick played by Congress to tarnish his image. 

 

BJP Dakshina Kannada district president Uday Kumar Shetty, ZP president Upendra Nayak, the former town councilor, local BJP leaders were present at the occasion.

 

 

I am not scared of CD; my political career has not come to an end – MLA Bhat 

 
Addressing the media persons, MLA Bhat said that sex CD is a foul play by opposition parties.  He has been deeply pained and shocked, but not feared.  Its not end of his political career, said MLA Bhat.

 

‘I have determined not to contest in the upcoming assembly elections; for the sake that the CD episode should not have adverse effect on the results of upcoming assembly elections.  The party bosses have not asked me as not to contest the elections.  My candidature has been cleared by party bosses.  I have been saddened owing to CD episode and decided as not to contest the upcoming assembly elections. At the backdrop of the increased pressure from party activists, I will leave the issue up to the party bosses.  I will follow their directive,’ said MLA Bhat.

 

Meanwhile, MLA Bhat urged CM Jagdish Shettar to hold probe over CD episode and identify the persons behind the entire issue and imprison them.
