Mangalore: Sipoy Sant, Konkani Religious Play Based on Saintly Life of Martyr Sebastian Staged in Ci

Mangalore, 25 Mar 2013: Sipoy Sant (Saintly Soldier), Konkani religious play was staged at St Agnes Special School grounds, Bendore here on Sunday March 24. It was staged by St Sebastian’s parish, Bendore as part of their centenary celebrations in order to raise funds for health fund of needy patients.
The religious play was based on the life of martyr St Sebastian.
This religious play was staged after 24 years in 5 stages and enacted by over 150 artistes. The dance troupe of 100 children also participated during playback music. The sound and light effect was the highlight of play with enactment of devout artistes. The same religious play was staged 24 years ago in just 3 stages.
Konkan Kalasri Claude D’Souza Bendore is the playwright of this religious play. It was directed by famous theater artiste and comedian Dolla Manglur.
A large number of parishioners from across the city deanery of Mangalore diocese witnessed the historical play at the occasion.
Rohan Corporation of Mangalore was the main sponsor of the mega play.
