Udupi: Alevoor Yogish Acharya to Contest Assembly Elections as Independent Candidate from Kaup

Udupi, 24 Mar 2013: At the backdrop of Vishwakarma community did not get prominence in politics in the undivided Dakshina Kannada (DK) district, Vishwakarma Federation has decided to propose Alevoor Yogish Acharya in order to contest in the forthcoming assembly elections.
The decision was taken during the meeting held at Kalikamba temple, Kaup here recently.
The Federation president, Yogish Acharya in his presidential address, expressed displeasure over the political parties for restricting the Vishwakarma community to work as party activists, without any prominence in party. It has not appointed Vishwakarma community individuals to state bodies. None of them responded to the grievances of community men engaged in carpentry and jewellers profession, expressed displeasure.
Yogish Acharya will contest the assembly elections as independent candidate.
