Mangalore: Two-Day Colorful Exhibition of Fruits & Flowers Begins at Kadri Park

Mangalore, 09 Mar 2013: Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alvas Education Foundation, Moodbidri inaugurated two-day exhibition of fruits and flower at Kadri Park, here on Saturday March 9 morning. It was jointly organized by Dakshina Kannada district administration, Dakshina Kannada ZP, plantation department and Siri – plantations Federation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mohan said that flowers have most significance in Indian culture, which improves physical and mental agility. The chief objective of organizing the exhibition is to crate general awareness on sustenance of greenery among urbanites, said Dr Mohan.
Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner (DC) N Prakash inaugurated the bee-keeping exhibition, while municipal commissioner Dr Harish Kumar inaugurated the plantation crops exhibition.
Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat CEO Dr K N Vijayaprakash, Siri plantations Federation vice president Laxmi Aroor, N V K Bhattrekodi deputy secretary K Nemiraj Konde, Sharada Achar, Sasi V Shetty, Vijayalaxmi Rao, Judith Mascarenhas, Dr Bharati Nirmal, Yogesh H R and others were present at the occasion.
I-Siri Herbals, HOPCOMS of plantation department, Alvas Pharmacy, Alia Orchid, Kissan Agro Tools, Siri Plantation Federation and other enterprises engaged in sericulture have set up their stalls at the exhibition.
The innumerable varieties of flowers and decorative plants indeed are a treat to eyes.
