Kuwait: KCWA holds General Body Meeting on 25th Feb

Kuwait, 26 Feb 2013: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), a premier Catholic Association in Kuwait held its General Body Meeting on Monday, 25th February 2013 at Dakshin Restaurant, Abbasiya. The meeting commenced at 11:00 am with the opening prayer lead by Dr. Manohar Prabhu.  President, Mr. Stephen Machado heartily welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude towards all the members for their support, love and encouragement. Rev. Fr. Noel Almeida was the chief Guest and in his message he commended KCWA’s service to the community and requested to continue this good work.

 
Minutes of previous GBM was read by Mrs. Mable Andrade. Activity report, Financial summary, Membership details and educational fund details were presented by Mr. Deepak Andrade, Mr. Melwin Monis, Mr. Praveen Menezes and Mr. Vijay D’souza respectively and were appreciated by all. Dr. Manohar Prabhu put forth various activities planned on the occasion of KCWA Silver Jubilee in the year 2013 – 2014. Ms. Sunitha D’Silva explained about the New & Revised Constitution and it was adopted after signing by the President.

 

 

 

Thereafter, Mr. Anil Menezes explained in detail the Election Guidelines for the upcoming KCWA Executive Committee elections. A 3 member Election commission was set up for this purpose. Mr. Jossie Pinto and Mrs. Gladys Suares were chosen as the Election Commissioners along with Mr. Stephen Machado. Elections will be held on Friday, 22nd March 2013 at ICSK, Salmiya.

 
Mr. Gilbert Mathias won the Lucky member of the day prize. Mr. Deepak Andrade proposed vote of thanks followed by closing prayer and a hymn to Mother Mary. Media coverage was given by Mangalorean.com & Bellevision websites.

 
Fr. Noel led grace before meal and around 150 people enjoyed the sumptuous lunch served by Caesors Group. The meeting was concluded at around 1:30 pm. The whole programme was ably compered by Vice President Mr. Nitin Castelino.
