Udupi: A Grand Welcome to Miss Sunitha Lobo in Pamboor

Udupi, 09 Feb 2013: The girl who made India  proud by winning a gold medal in special olympics held in south Korea was welcomed with flowers and celebration by the people from Udupi.  The trustee Miss Remedia , Mr.Lalaji Mendon MLA kaup, Mr.Vasantha Salian, and others.. Sunitha was welcomed at katapady by the trustees, students, parents and other well wieshers at 9am, and took her to Manasa in procession . Nasik band accompanied her and other well wishers, Students from near by schools congartulated her for her outstanding performance. People from near by villages also cogratulated her. As she reached B.C. road where people from pamboor village had gathered to welcome her and students from Sri Nararyana Guru institutions and Pamboor church school were gathered and welcomed her.(10:30am). Mr.Henry Fernandes, Mr.Anil D’souza,Mr. Naveen Quadras shouted slogans during the procession. Nasik band from Bantakal Accompanied the procession.

 

 

There was a felicitation programme held at Manasa which started at 11:00am. Rev.fr.Charles Lewis parish priest of Holy cross church Pambor, Mr.Lalaji Mendon MLA kaup, Mr.Vasantha Salian. Sunitha’s Mother , President of Catholic Sabha Shirva Varado Mr.William Machado,Principal of Manasa Institutions Sr.Thelma were present on the dias.

Miss Remedia Welcomed the gathering and told Mr. Lalaji Mendon to provide a play ground fo rthe students of Manasa. Sunitha Lobo was felicitated. Then Lalaji Mendon congratulated her and appreciated the quality education and training that is given to the students of Manasa Institutions. Mr.Vasantha Salian also congratulated her and wished her alll the best. Rev.fr. Charles also gave his blessings to Sunitha and appreciated her and wished her success.Mr.William Machado president of Catholic Sabha congratulated sunitha and Mr.Rocky handed over a cash prize of Rs15,000 to her an behalf of Catholic Sabha. Mrs.Merlyn a teacher in Manasa Thanked the people who helped with a contribution and those who helped to make this event a grand success,Especially to Mr.Henry Fernandes, Mr.Anil D’souza,and mr.Santhosh who worked hard and helped a lot in Organizing the Event. Sunitha also thanked everyone for their support. Manasa institution is grateful to the principal Sr. Thelma who went with Sunitha to South Korea to guide her. The programme ended at 1:00pm.
