Mangalore: Hindus should be united for the welfare of the nation - Bhagawat

Mangalore, 03 Feb 2013 (DHNS): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagawat made a firm remark that RSS would use its power to preserve India and Hindu religion by not opposing anybody.

 

RSS is an organisation that works towards the welfare of the society and in the process, let there be no enmity and hatredness for others in our hearts, he said.

 

He was addressing the RSS volunteers at a mega convention of the RSS - ’Vibhag Sanghik’ organised by RSS Mangalore division at Kenjar on the outskirts of the City on Sunday. In more of a speech that centered around the preachings of Swami Vivekananda, Mohan Bhagawat has called upon the RSS volunteers to serve the society based on the principles of truth and honesty. Linking the preachings of Swami Vivekananda with that of the ideologies of the RSS, he said both the ideologies are similar as they focus on the betterment of India. 

 

 

“The work of Sangha is what exactly Vivekananda had preached. Responsibility lies large on the shoulders of the volunteers to rebuild the lost heritage and richness of India and it could be achieved by following Vivekananda’s preachings. It is very apt that Sanghik is organised on the day when India is celebrating the 150 year birth anniversary (according to ‘Thithi’) of Swami Vivekananada. He had asked Hindus not to fear for anything, to stand up and face the situation so that every problem will disappear. But to achieve this, the RSS volunteers have to serve with selfless attitude. We have to remove the feelings of discrimination from our hearts and serve the poor,” he said.

 

Giving a call to the Hindus to unite for the welfare of the nation, he told power lies in unity, truth and good character. India will emerge as a developed and progressive country within next 10 to 20 years, if people follow the preachings of Swami Vivekananda, claimed the Sarsanghchalak. 

 

Programme for introspection

Taking exception for the reports that RSS has organised Vibhag Sanghik to show its power, Mohan Bhagawat, clarified that the Sanghik was not convened as a show of strength. When the power already exists, there is no need to exhibit it as it reflects on its own. Same is the case with RSS.

 

The programme has been organised to give time for introspection.  Every RSS volunteer has to introspect on how he can serve the society with complete dedication.

 

One lakh workers join

Over one lakh RSS volunteers from 1,152 villages from four districts including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu and Kasargod participated in the Sanghik that lasted for two hours.

 

Despite the absence of publicity, banners and advertisements, the volunteers came in a large number. Over 15,000 volunteers had visited houses inviting people to attend Sanghik.

 

The ten months of efforts of RSS leaders and volunteers from Mangalore division was visible in the way the programme was organised.
