Udupi: LIC Branches Open Early to Transact Maximum Business on Auspicious Day of 12-12-2012

Udupi, Dec 12: The branch offices of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) are open for business here at 5.00am on Wednesday December 12.  The officers including staff are on their regular tasks already.  Don’t get surprised! Today is 12-12-2012, that comes once in a century.

 
LIC had taken earnest interest in marketing its products by urging the people to buy life insurance policies as-once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity on Dec 12, a distinct date indeed.  Therefore, it has opened its branches many hours ahead of usual time, in order to avoid hindrances to the customers.  Besides, LIC agents have also taken keen interest in marketing life insurance policies on this date.  It has distributed the brochures of latest insurance products to prospective customers and will hand over the policies here on Wednesday itself.

 

 

Each branch has the target of marketing 1,212 policies.  It has to clear complete issuance of policies today itself.  If one goes by the target of at least 1,000 policies from a branch, when compared to the nation, over a several crore policies will be issued on this date, which would create a record in the history of LIC.

 
The handbills signifying the importance of 12-12-2912 has been distributed through all branches of LIC under Udupi division.  The efforts are being made to convince the prospective customers on the significance of numerology and religiousness of the set date. The auspiciousness and mythological significance has been highlighted on the date.  One cannot deny it might have been the trick played by LIC on prospective customers by echoing religious sentiments to buy insurance policies.  Meanwhile, it has been successful in bagging a significant share of life insurance business in the cut throat competition that prevails in insurance sector in the nation.
