Moodubelle: Ganesh Chaturthi celebrated with traditional fervour

Moodubelle, 19 Sept 2012: Ganesh Chaturthi (Chowthi) was celebrated with traditional fervour in different places in Moodubelle on Wednesday, September 19, 2012. In the residence of late Vttaldas Kini, the idol of Ganesha has been worshipped since the last 45 years and the tradition continues under his son Vasudeva Kini and his children.
Similarly, the tradition of Ganesh Chowthi that was started by late Baburaya Kamath around 60 years ago continues under his son Divakara Kamath and his family. In the same way Ganesh idol is worshipped in the residence of late Narasimha Nayak and his son late Subbanna Nayak since the last 75 years by their successors Pundalika Nayak and his brothers.
The three days long 33rd Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava is being celebrated in the Geeta Mandira near Moodubelle Panchayat Office. Moodubelle Melpete Friends have spent around Rs. 40,000/- by providing iron gate and tiles around the Aswatha Tree from where the Ganesh Visarjane procession begins. Besides they have also provided a silver belt to the Ganesh idol in Geeta Mandira.
