Dubai: Grand celebration of Sacred Heart of Jesus feast by Surathkal parishioners

Dubai, 16 June 2012: Surathkal parishioners residing in the UAE celebrated the feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, 15 June, 2012 with great devotion and enthusiasm. This was yet another opportunity for the parishioners to unite as one family. The day started with all parishioners attending the 9:00 am mass at St. Mary’s Church, Dubai and thereafter gathering at the Tantra Club, Karama Hotel for lunch, followed by entertainment.

 

Valerian D’ Almeida and Roydon Roche compered the event from 11:30 am.  The event began with a prayer by Clara Pinto. Wilson Crasta, Lancy D’Souza, Sarita Pinto, Clara Pinto and team with their melodious voice sang a Hymn thanking Sacred Heart of Jesus.

 

Sunil Pinto, President of ESPA (Emirates Surathkal Parishioners’ Association) delivered the welcome message. Gilbert D’Souza released the Annual Newsletter and Mr. William Sequeira released the By-laws.  Ashok D’Souza introduced the new members.

 
Mr. Satheesha Ganiga, Chairman and Managing Director of Chilly Willy was the Chief Guest and was felicitated by ESPA committee for his generous contributions to ESPA events during the last two years.

 

 

 

All Committee members were honored with a memento for their contribution to ESPA during the last two years. Diana Leena Pinto and Avil Pinto were also honored with a memento for their contributions to ESPA.

 

Mr. Godfrey Misquith conducted the election and the following members were elected as the Office bearers of ESPA for the year 2012 to 2014.

A number of short games were conducted by Valerian D’ Almeida. Olan Pinto {on keyboards} and Rian Pinto {on the violin} enthralled the audience with their Music. Wilson Crasta, Calvina Pinto, Clara Pinto and Lancy D’Souza entertained the audience by their singing. Dances by Calvina, Joshua, Nahshon, Fiona, Seema, Inish, Jerusha and Tanisha left the audience spell bound.  Skits by Deepak, Wilson Serrao, Sunil Pinto, Clara Pinto and Roydon left everyone laughing.

 

There was also a small session where the members voiced their opinions towards the betterment of the association and also to bring in more members to ESPA. The Baila session made the whole gathering come to the floor and dance to the Non-stop Baila beats.

The enthusiasm and cooperation of the parishioners truly made the day memorable for all. It was 4:30 pm when all went home with fond memories that will be cherished forever and looking forward to the next event by ESPA…..
