DID fame Terence Lewis to judge ’Dhoom Machale’ Dance Competition in Kuwait

Kuwait, 31 Match 2012: Dance India Dance fame Terence Lewis will be the judge for grand finale of Indian Youth Society-Kuwait presents "Dhoom Machale" Dance competition which will be held on 27th of April in Kuwait.

 

 

"Dhoom Machale" A dance competition to bring out the dancing talent of Indians in Kuwait which will be judged by the Bollywood dancing judge & choreographer Terence Lewis. The competition has different levels according to the age group of contestant such as junior, pre senior & senior. Anyone aged between 8yrs to 17 yrs can register for the competition. Registration for the audition is already open and closes on 5th of April 2012.

 

 

Terence Lewis (born 10 April 1975) is an Indian choreographer. He is internationally trained and specialises in Indian folk, contemporary and neo-classical dance forms. He is also a choreographer in Bollywood films and musicals.] He has been trained nationally and specializes in contemporary dance. Terence has also choreographed a number of films and musicals as a celebrity choreographer. Terence has choreographed a number of stage shows, Indian contemporary performances, Bollywood Shows, corporate launches, Broadway Westend musicals, feature films, several popular music videos, and has appeared in many advertisements. Terence won the American Choreography Award for his excellent choreography for songs of the movie Lagaan along with Saroj Khan, Raju Khan, Ganesh Hegde and Vaibhavi Merchant. He was the mentor for the Dance India Dance winner, Shakti Mohan. He has choreographed international stage shows, mega Bollywood shows, corporate launches, Broadway Westend musicals, feature films, ads and music videos. He is the first Indian to receive the prestigious Dance WEB Scholarship, representing India in Vienna, Austria. Terence represented Asia at the International Choreographers’ Meet at the TANZ platform, Stuttgart, Germany. He was also a teacher at Impulstanz Festival at Vienna, Austria since 2007-08 teaching Bollywood and Indian contemporary dance.

 

He was the choreographer in films like John Mathew’s Shikhar and Ram Gopal Verma’s Naach. He also did Music videos like Adnan Sami’s Kasam (with Amisha Patel), Stereo Nation’s Ishq (with Koena Mitra) and Shaan, Saapna Mukherjee among others.Terence also did international musicals like ’The Children of the sea’ and ’Finding Marina’ with the Civil War and Tsunami affected children in Sri Lanka
Terrence Lewis has been a judge on Dance India Dance for its past two seasons. In season 1 Terrence Lewis and his contestant, Alisha Singh, came in second place, with Mohammed Y.K Gouse (Salman Khan) in first. Season 2 is where Terrence Lewis and his contestant, Shakti Mohan, came in first place.He is also going to judge another dance show in colors channel namely-chak dhoom dhoom.

 

 
With the beginning of DID season 3, Terrence is still among the three judges along with Remo and Geeta Maa. The most shocking event in the auditions was the participation of his former assistant, who did so without informing Terrence. Terrence to be fair to the competition did not judge his performance and left that to the other two judges, who without thinking selected him for the next round.
The Indian Youth Society was established by the initiative of a bunch of young Indians with the purpose of creating a youth revolution. The society has been successful in amassing wide popularity amongst the youth of Kuwait and in spreading the Indian Culture amongst the people of Kuwait. The IYS team is working with a vision of providing social & cultural work with quality entertainment for the Indian community.

 
AUDITION WILL BE ON 14TH OF APRIL AT CARMEL SCHOOL, KHAITAN WHICH WILL BE JUDGED BY THE BEST LOCAL CHOREOGRAPHER & DANCING TEACHERS
