Dubai: “Grand Konkan Showers 2012 - Wilfy Nite” on April 27

Dubai, 27 March 2012: St. Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC) Dubai  presents the most awaited  & sentimental evening of the year  – “GRAND KONKAN SHOWERS 2012 - WILFY NITE” on the 27th of April 2012 at Al Nasr Leisureland Icerink, Dubai from 5.30 p.m. onwards.

 

 

To retain the legacy left behind by our famous Konkani legend, popularly known as “Konkan Kogul” - the late Wilfy Rebimbus, SMKC, Dubai  is all geared up to set the stage for the decennial celebration by inviting the late legend’s troupe from Mangalore, comprising of 12 members.  The members include ‘Konkan Myna’- Meena Rebimbus, Veena Rebimbus Pais, Vishwas Rebimbus, Prem Lobo, “Konkan KalaShree” Claud D’Souza & Babita Pinto, along with Peethambaran & the popular duo Music Directors Pappan & Joswin Pinto who have been associated with the legend since long.

 

Accompanying them are the ace comedian Adolphus Cutinha (Dolla) and Melwyn Dalmeida (Mellu) who will provide large doses of laughter.  “Ocean Kids” under the leadership of Vinod Sequeira will enthrall the crowd with exotic dances that will complement the songs sung by the popular troupe. The whole show will be compeered by the “Compeer beyond Compare” Leslie Rego.

This year too, the legendary troupe is back in action to render the mellifluous songs of the late ‘Konkan Kogul’ and SMKC Dubai will always provide the best in its organization as usual”.
