Manipal : Women’s Volleyball tournament – Davala College win

Manipal, 26 September 2011: In the Mangalore University level Women’s Volleyball Tournament conducted in Madhva Pai Memorial College Manipal, Davala College Moodubidri emerged as winners and won the Kolkebail Chandrashekara Trophy. In the finals held on Sunday, Davala College team defeated S.D.S. College Ujire team with 3 – 0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-16) straight sets. Last year’s winner S.D.S. College had to be satisfied with the runners-up trophy this time.

 

 
 
Earlier in the first semi-final match Davala College defeated the host Madhava Pai College team with 3 – 0 sets and entered the final. In the second semi-final match S.D.S. College team defeated Udupi’s Poornaprajna College with 3 – 0 sets and also entered the final.
 
In the prize distribution ceremony, Udupi M.G.M. College Principal Prof. P. Venkataramana Gowda, K. Venugopal of Corporation Bank and host M.P.M. College Principal Prof. P. Dayananda Shetty distributed the prizes.
