Udupi, 11 September 2011: This is called Somersault or Trying every trick! Jayakrishna Shetty an Mumbai entrepreneur from Udupi and his followers were supporting the Power Plant of Udupi Power corporation Limited until just few days ago, who were then saying that they were the reason for the establishing of the Power Plant in Udupi and their God Father George Fernandes had sanctioned this plant and so on.
 
But now once the Power Plant started functioning, they are talking against it and they yell that this company is destroying the coastal districts. Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samithi, which has been set up with the name of Jayakrishna Shetty himself, had earlier even organized several meetings in support of the company in Udupi - Mangalore. At that time the true environment lovers had even protested and there were also troubles.

 

 
 
But on Saturday Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samithi conducted an public meeting. Jayakrishna Shetty the Founder President of this samithi who had earlier supported the Power Plant Project, spoke on this occasion and said that the technology of the fly ash of this plant is not right, the technology of bringing sea water to cool the boilers is not right, local people should be employed, the cases against the protesters should be withdrawn, the twin district should be provided 24 hour electricity, Energy minister Shobha Karandlaje who never visited this place should visit and inspect the plant and the CM who himself is from Udupi should take stringent action on this issue, he urged.
 
Supporting him, the dignitaries who were on the dias were; committee’s Udupi district President Padmabhushana Dr. B.M. Hegde, BJP leader Jagadish Adhikari, Committee Vice President Ramachandra Bikampadi, Hon. Secretary Magician Prof. Shankar, Felix D’Souza, Kodavooru Divakara Shetty and others. Recently in a press conference Jayakrishna Shetty had also said that, if the problem of the power plant cannot be resolved then District Minister Dr. V.S. Acharya should resign his position. If he himself was the Chief Minister he would have resolved the problems with in no time, he said.
 
The farmers and the environment lovers had protested against all these problems earlier, but at that time this committee never understood it and now the way they are understanding it is quite surprising. Now the protest by the people and even the Pejavara Shree against the UPCL has cooled down. The plant has started functioning without caring for anyone with the complete support of the people’s representatives. But at this time the somersault or trying every trick by Jayakrishna Shetty and his followers is somewhat suspicious.
 
After the meeting which was attended by only few public, the Farmer Association activists protested at the offices of District President Dr. B.M. Hegde and then there was argument between Dr. Hegde and Farmer Association District President Vijayakumar Hegde. At the end the Police intervened and arrested the activists and then later released.
