Mangaluru: Small Christian Community training programme was held at Bondel Parish

Mangaluru, 18 Feb 2024: Being a part of a small Christian community, where your faith is shared, heard, and celebrated, is the most effective way to develop in it. The Small Christian Community (SCC) is an excellent means of explaining the relationships between living and faithA training session for small Christian communities was held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 9.30 a.m. at the auditorium of St. Lawrence English Medium School.

 

The ceremony began with "The Enthronement of the Holy Bible," which was followed by a prayer song. Rev. Fr Maxim D’Souza was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers by Mr Onil Lobo. The resource person was introduced by Rev. Lancy D’Souza, Director of Small Christian Community, who also greeted everyone present. Rev. Fr Maxim D’Souza, Parish Priest Jeppu, was the day’s resource person. Rev. Maxim focused on the development, necessity, purpose, aim, and significance of S.C.C. and ward groups during his insightful discussion and insightful PowerPoint presentation. He gave the ward committee’s roles and responsibilities to S.C.C. a briefing.

 

 

Along with providing details on the framework, he also offered fresh perspectives on how to run S.C.C. meetings in our wards. He emphasised how important it is for people to have the right attitude towards SCC in order for them to fulfil their roles along with what steps can be taken to unite the ward as a family.to improve interpersonal relationships and establish strong Christian communities through the dissemination of God’s word.

 

Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza Parish Priest, Mr John D’Silva – Vice President Parish Patrol Council, Mr Santosh Misquith Secretory, Parish Patrol Council, Mr Onil Lobo Convener, Mrs Lavita Secretory for Small Christian Community were present. In a short message, Rev. Fr Andrew Leo Dsouza, parish priest, implored people of faith to attend to the meeting with their families, to take part in the ward feast at least once a year, to join other wards in prayers, and to enhance their spiritual growth.

 

The two hour session was benefited by around 150 members Rev. Fr Maxim D’Souza cleared the doubts and queries raised by the participants. The training was concluded by proposing the vote of thanks by Mrs. Mary Miranda.
