Ln.Josil Errol Noronha and Ln.Pramila Lasrado take charge as Presidents of Lions Club Bantakal BC Ro

Udupi, 13 July 2023: The Installation ceremony of new office bearers for the Lionistic year 2023-24 of Lions Club Bantakal BC Road and Bantakal Jasmine was held on 11th July 2023 at Pamboor Church Hall. The programme commenced at 7PM. Ln.Reena Dsouza President of Bantakal Jasmine Club called the meeting to order, Prayer song was sung by the children of Bantakal Jasmine club members. Ln.Arun Noronha 1st Vice President of Bantakal BC Road Club welcomed the gathering. The parish priest of the Holy Cross Church Pamboor invoked God’s blessing over the function and on the new office bearers. In his message he compared the leader of an organization to a Pilot of an Aircraft who takes passengers from one destination to another.

 

The Installation Officer Ln.Hariprasad Rai (PMJF) District Coordinator 317C took over and installed the new office bearers for the year 2023-24. He was introduced to the gathering by Ln.Mabel Menezes.

 

Ln.Josil Errol Noronha took charge as the President, Ln.Anitha Mathias as Secretary, Ln.Sadananda Poojary as Treasurer of the Lions Club Bantakal BC Road. Ln.Pramila Lasrado took charge as President, Ln.Clara Shaila D’Souza as Secretary, Ln.Irene Sequeira as Treasurer of the Lions Club Bantakal Jasmine.

 

The Installation Officer explained their duties and responsibilities to all the officer bearers of both the clubs. He also added 2 new members Ln.Samson Noronha and Ln.Felix Fernandes to Lions Club Bantakal BC Road.

 

 

During the acceptance speech, Ln.Josil said he is inspired by his Grand Father to take up social service activities. He also quoted an adage popularized by the Movie The Amazing Spiderman "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" which means ’If you have the ability to do something make sure you do it for the good of Others’ which will serve as his motto during the year. He also appreciated the efforts of Immediate Past President Ln.Wilfred Pinto, Ln.Umesh Kulal secretary, Ln.Ronald Quadras Treasurer in taking the club to greater heights.

 

Ln.Pramila thanked the members for electing her as the president and promised to organize service activities as per the BELAKU Programme.

 

Ln. Reena Dsouza, the immediate past president of Bantakal Jasmine club thanked the members and others who supported her during her tenure. She also felicitated and honored the secretary, Treasurer and other club members with a Memento.

 

Ln.Wilfred Pinto the immediate past President of Bantakal BC Road Club couldn’t make it to the installation ceremony due his work commitments abroad however he had sent a whatsapp message to the gathering. The same was read out by Ln.Vijay Dheeraj Dsouza.

 

Both the clubs organized service activities to help the needy for the Educational purposes, also Felicitated and Honored special guests and invitees for their achievements.

 

The District Secretary Ln.Raviraja Nayak congratulated the new team and conveyed his suggestions and advice to the team. He also explained about the visionary program BELAKU which was conceptualized by the district governor Ln.Neri Cornelio. The Region Chairperson Ln.Hrishikesh Hegde also congratulated the team and assured his support for the programs. He pointed out that Bantakal BC Road club has chosen the right person(Ln.Josil) as pilot and said he will land the aircraft at the right destination. He further appreciated Ln.Josil for completing a task assigned by him within the stipulated time. He also congratulated and wished the Bantakal Jasmine Team. Zone Chairperson Ln.Ivan D’almeida also conveyed his wishes.

 

Ln.Vijay Dheeraj Compered the programme. The ceremony ended by singing the National Anthem. Ln.Josil Noronha Adjourned the meeting for fellowship and Dinner.
