In Dendoor Indrali Thota areas among the 20 – 30 houses, the flood water has flown into 10 houses.

Speaking to this reporter of Bellevision Media Network, Sundar Shetty said that, there were big floods come before also. But now with the dams, the water is not flowing through properly and the trash gets collected and the flood has increased. Before even if there is continuous heavy rain, there was no fear of the big floods, he said.

Sachin Poojary speaking to the reporter said that, the cow sheds are covered with the flood waters and we are unable to provide the shelter to our cows and buffalos. Earlier there were vacant lands where we were able shelter our cows and buffalos outside, but now so many buildings have raised everywhere and there is hardly any place for them now, he said.

The rains, I believe, are the same. but due to lots of forest area being bulldozed, The water holding capacity of higher altitudes has reduced and thus all the water rushed down to the low lying areas. Our forests are depleting.. and that too at an alarming rate. the situation is grim..
