Mangaluru: CDE programme on updates of Endodontics held at Nitte University

Mangaluru, 24 Oct 2017: A Continuing Dental Education (CDE) Programme comprising three lectures and hands on session on Current Updates on Fundamentals of Endodontics was conducted by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, A. B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Nitte University at Trimshathi Bhavan, here, on Monday, October 23 at 9.00am. The programme was jointly sponsored by KaVo Kerr India and the college.
Professor Dr M S Moodithaya, registrar, Nitte University, resource persons Professor Dr Shashi Rashmi Acharya and Professor Dr Amit Patodiya, Professor Dr U S Krishna Nayak, principal, Professor Dr B Rajendra Prasad, director – postgraduate studies and Professor Dr Mithra N Hegde, vice principal, head of the department were the chief guests inaugurated the programme.
Professor Dr Mithra N Hegde welcomed the gathering and briefed about the academic agenda of the department pertaining to the CDE Programmes being conducted every month which provide an avenue for robust exchange of information on recent concepts and scientific achievements in dentistry.
Professor Dr M S Moodithaya briefed the audience about the levels of core competence in an individual.
Professor Dr Shashi Rashmi Acharya, Professor Dr Amit Patodiya and Professor Dr U S Krishna Nayak expressed their warm greetings.
Dr Gowrish Bhat, reader, delivered the vote of thanks.
The inaugural session was followed by 3 lectures. Professor Dr Shashi Rashmi Acharya, department of conservative dentistry and endodontics, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal University, Manipal delivered a lecture titled Scout, Scour, Sculpt the Pulp Space with emphasis on the latest endosonic technology.
Professor Dr Amit Patodiya, department of conservative dentistry and endodontics, Mahatma Gandhi Dental College and Hospital, Jaipur and director of Meera Dental Hospital delivered 2 lectures, Magnification in Dentistry – What we are missing and Access to Obturation.
The lecture session was followed by Hands on session based on the latest technology in Rotary Endodontics and micro-dentistry for the postgraduate and faculty members.
The programme was attended by over 60 participants, faculty members, postgraduate students from Manipal College of Dental Sciences – Mangaluru, Manipal College of Dental Sciences – Manipal, Yenepoya Dental College and A J Institute of Dental Sciences.
