Regional Health Commission to visit Udupi Diocese on 17 July

Udupi, 12 Jul 2017: The Regional Health Commission will be visiting Udupi Diocese on Monday, 17 July 2017 to observe and learn about the implementation of the diocesan Pastoral Plan 2025. Most Rev. Joseph Arumachadath (Bhadravathi), the Regional Chairman of the Health Commission, Rev. Fr Mathew Perumpil, CBCI Secretary for Health Commission, Rev. Fr Santhosh Dias, the Regional Secretary for the Health Commission, Rev. Fr Lourdusamy, the Coordinator of Karnataka Regional Pastoral Plan Implementation Committee (KRPPIC) will be in the team that will be visiting Udupi Diocese. Fr Mathew Perumpil will deliver a lecture on “the present scenario of the Health Care Ministry - National Policy on health vis-a-vis CBCI Policy on Health: Challenges and opportunities”. Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo will be present throughout the day.

The meeting will take place on Monday, 17 July 2017 from 10 am to 1 pm in the Bishop’s House conference hall. Fr. Denis D’Sa said that he is planning to invite a few doctors and Nurses to this meeting. He has requested the Deanery Health Coordinators to be ready with a report of the activities during the year 2016 and 2017 to be presented on July 17. Every parish priest and parish coordinator for the Health Commission in the diocese has been requested to send the updated list of Medical professionals (doctors, nurses, Para- medics) in their respective parishes. So far information from ten parishes has been received.
In an earlier meeting of the Diocesan Health Commission held in March, 2017, Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo had said that the Health Commission has an important role to play in the realization of Pastoral Plan 2025. He had appealed the parish level Health Commissions to organize programmes in their respective parishes in collaboration with other commissions and parish organizations and NGOs.
