Bantwal: Offices of SP & DCIB to monitor criminal activities in taluk - IGP Harishekaran

Bantwal, 02 Jul 2017: The offices of ASP and district crime investigation bureau (DCIB) that is located in Mangaluru city will be relocated to Bantwal taluk, in order to main law and order situation in the most communally-sensitive taluk in the entire Dakshina Kannada district, said Western Range IGP P Harishekaran.
Harishekaran was speaking during taluk level public peace meeting that was organized by Dakshina Kannada district police department at Bunts Bhavan, Brahmarakotlu, here, on Saturday, July 1.
The move has been significant to keep tab on drug peddlers, communal forces and other criminals, said Harishekaran.
Being serving in police force, we fear laws while the goons sans it. Such people will get the taste of law very soon. The process is underway to book over 20 people who are involved in criminal activities under Goonda Act. Dakshina Kannada district has been known for intelligent people that have been tarnished in the recent communal flare-ups, added Harishekaran.
The police department is vigilant on those criminals hiding, while their bails will be revoked and their properties will be seized legally, said Harishekaran.
The law and order disturbance is caused by just 1 percent of criminals. The entire police force of district was patrolling the taluk nearly 1 month that faced the worst situation so far. The police will not file cases on innocent, assured Harishekaran.
Dakshina Kannada DC Dr Jagadeesha said that the criminals don’t deserve moral support because that will motivate them for further crimes. They got to be treated accordingly. The religion is personal and it does not apply to a family. The officers have no reservation for caste, creed and faith while discharging their duties, said Dr Jagadeesha.
SP Sudhir Kumar Reddy urged the general public to co-operate with police force in maintaining law and order.
