Udupi: Ln. Gerald Fernandes takes charge as the President of Lions Club, Moodubelle

Udupi, 03 Jul 2017: Ln. Gerald Fernandes took charge as the President of the Lions Club, Moodubelle from the outgoing President Ln. Elias D’Souza during the Installation ceremony that was held on Sunday, 2 July 2017 from 7.15 to 9.30 pm in the Lions Seva Bhavan. Ln. Hanif Mohammed, mjf, Region Chairman, Region V conducted the Installation Ceremony. The other new office bearers included, Ln. Henry Fernandes as the Secretary and Ln. Vinod Castelino as the Treasurer.

 

The Installation Function was attended by Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Parish priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle, Ln. Wilfred D’Souza, Past District Governor, Ln. V.G. Shetty, mjf, Mrs. Jyothi Pai, mjf, Region Chairperson-Region IV, Ln. Ravikumar-District Cabinet Treasurer and Leo Akash- District Leo President.

 

The Installation Function began with prayer cum welcome dance by Sharline D’Almeida and group.

 

 

Following the Flag Salutation by Snehal Prethika D’Souza and welcome address by Ln. Elias D’Souza, Ln. Elias Lobo, mjf introduced the chief guest, Ln. Hanif Mohammed, mjf who conducted the Installation ceremony.

 

In his acceptance speech, the newly installed President Ln. Gerald Fernandes accepted the responsibility as the new president and assured to carry on the good tradition of the Lions Club of Moodubelle with the cooperation nd support of all the members.

 

District Leo President Akash inaugurated the Leo Club of Moodubelle by lighting the lamp with the help of the dignitaries on the dais. He also administered the oath of office to the new office bearers of the Leo Club.

 

On this occasion, the meritorious students who scored highest marks in the PUC and SSLC were felicitated by the dignitaries on the dais.

 

Fr. Mahesh D’Souza, Principal of the Don Bosco High School, Shirva was honoured for his achievements in the field of education.

 

Ln. V.G. Shetty, mjf was felicitated on being elected as the Second Vice Governor.

 

Seven youngsters were inducted as new members of the Lions Club of Moodubelle by Ln. V.G. Shetty.

 

Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Ln. Wilfred D’Souza and Ln. Ravikumar in their messages complimented the Lions Club of Moodubelle for various service activities. Fr. Clement appreciated the contribution of the Lions Club of Moodubelle during the last year under the presidentship of Ln. Elias D’Souza.

 

The outgoing president Ln. Elias D’Souza was honoured by the dignitaries on the dais for his contribution as the president of the Lions Club of Moodubelle.

 

Replying for the felicitation, Ln. Elias D’Souza said that he could undertake many service activities with the cooperation of all the members of the Lions Club and assured all support to the new president, Ln. Gerald Fernandes.

 

Ln. Henry Fernandes  proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs. Ashwitha Sharlett D’Souza comperred the prgramme.
