Mumbai: Ganiga Samaj holds Annual Sports Meet to foster community bond

Mumbai, 17 Apr 2017: Sports improves health. The love and empathy of community brethren is important than competition. The sports day helps to foster bonds among brethrens and share their knowledge for common good, said Ganiga Samaj Mumbai® president Kutpady Ramachandra M Ganiga.
Ramachandra was speaking after inaugurating annual sports meet that was organized by Ganiga Samaj Mumbai at GSB Sports Club grounds, Kings Circle, Matunga (East), here on Saturday, April 15.
Ganiga Samaj Mumbai veteran member Annappayya Kolambe inaugurated the sports day.
Bengaluru-based veteran entrepreneur B N Ramakrishna was the chief guest of the occasion. Samparka Sudha, Kannada magazine publisher and editor U Balachandra Katpady and Sadanand Kallianpur were the guests of honor.
The entrepreneur Ratnakar A Shetty Thane inaugurated the cricket tourney by batting.
Speaking on the occasion, Balachandra Katpady said, ‘One should not have inferiority complex born in a small backward community, while the unity can forge greater success in every sphere.’ He urged the community brethrens to partake in the events to develop the belongingness.
Variety games were held for all groups, while everyone partaken in real sportsmanship.
Ganiga Samaj Mumbai honorary president Jagannat M Ganiga, vice president Bhaskar M Ganiga, honorary general secretary Chandrashekar R Ganiga, joint secretary B Jagdish Ganiga, honorary treasurer Jayant Padmanabha Ganiga, executive Committee member Asha Harish Tonse, Arati S Ganiga, Veena D Ganesh, Poornima Kallianpur, Veena Rao Chembur, Nitish B Rao, Gopalakrishna Govind Ganiga, Jayant Ganiga, Rajesh Kutpady, Raghu Ganiga Chakala, Shubha Ganesh Kutpady and others were present during inaugural function.
Youth wing president Ganesh R Kutpady welcomed the gathering. Ramachandra Ganiga introduced the dignitaries. The former secretary B V Rao rendered the prayers and administered the oath. Chandrashekar R Ganiga proposed vote of thanks.
