Bantwal: Veerendra Heggade offers unto society first ever Tulu Museum

Bantwal, 02 Apr 2017: The museums unravel the artifacts in literary form. We can witness the progress through bygone era till the new inventions by observing artifacts, said D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala.
Heggade was speaking after offering unto society the Tulu museum and S U Paniyady library that was set up by Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Centre and Tulu museum at Sanchayagiri, B C Road, here on Saturday, April 1.
The credit for setting up Tulu museum goes to Professor Tukaram Poojary, added Heggade.
The district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai in his presidential address said, ‘Bantwal is proud of Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Centre, S U Paniyady Library and Tulu museum.’
Melukote MLA K S Puttannayya was the chief guest said, ‘The need of the hour is to foster social bond. It’s an irony that the so called educated sans the common sense that ordinary people have.’ He questioned what one really gains from today’s education. He also urged to introspect on enhancing the value of education and sustaining cultural hierarchy.
The museums and heritage department director Dr R Gopal said that with the private participation, the government can develop nearly 1 lac monuments in Karnataka.
The award winning movie artiste Harini S Rao was the chief guest of the occasion. The architect Jagdish was felicitated on the same occasion.
SVS College retired principal Professor Shankar Bhat conveyed best wishes to the programme.
Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Centre president Tukaram Poojary welcomed the gathering and delivered preliminary address. The secretary Dr Ashalata S Suvarna proposed vote of thanks. The retired Professor Dr R Narasimhamurti compered the programme.
