Belman: “Abhivraddipatha” Children’s Camp - 2011 held

Belman, 02 April 2011: “God loves children and when the children adopt the attitude of respecting their parents and teachers they will be blessed by God. Parents and teachers are the sculptors of children’s future” said Rev. Fr. Lawrence D’Souza, Parish Priest of St. Joseph Church, Belman. He was speaking upon inaugurating the “Abhivraddipatha” Children’s Camp - 2011 at Belman St. Joseph school hall.

 

The camp was jointly organized by Shirva St. Mary’s College, Rotary Club Shirva, Old Students Association Belman, JCI Belman, Sports Club. Chief Guest of the inaugural program Gregory Minezes – Vice President of Parish Pastoral council spoke on the occasion and said that to get rid of inferior complexity among the children and to have broader exposure to their personality, this kind of camps are helpful and called upon the children to make use of this opportunity.

 

The inaugural program was presided over by Dr. J. C. Miranda – Principal of St. Mary’s College Shirva. In his presidential address he said that, when proper listening art is adopted, active personality will get activated. Organized games, honest work, listening with concentration are all the steps to the success of life.

 

Belman JCI President Sathish K., School Headmistress Sr. Monica and Social Studies Lecturer Prof. Lakshmi Acharya were also present on the dais. Joyline welcomed the guests and the gathering. Mustafa Kumbhakodu compeered the program. Francis Barboza proposed vote of thanks.

 

 

During the camp training was provided by various information provider personalities on discipline, determination, leadership, efforts and concentration. In the afternoon Katapadi S.V.S. English Medium School Principal Mattu Gopalakrishna Rao provided the training on the art of acting. Cultural programs were performed by students from various schools.

 

The closing ceremony program was presided over by School Headmistress Sr. Monica. Chief Guest of the program was Vincent Pinto, lecturer from Shirva. Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy Member B. Pundalika Marathe, Punarukare School Teacher Devadas Patkar, Belman Grama Panchayath Member Geetha Prabhu and Metilda Ittu Mary also participated in the program.

 

Prize distribution ceremony was conducted and prizes were given away to the students with appreciation. On behalf of the students Shalet D’Souza Belman, Adithya Bhat Punarukere, Meryn Melony Dimello, Ittu Mary spoke on the occasion. Saraswathi welcomed the gathering. Mustafa compeered the program.
