3-Day Aloysian Fest concludes at St Aloysius College

Mangaluru, 05 Feb 2017: The valedictory function of 3-day Aloysian Fest of St Aloysius College, here was held at Mother Teresa Peace Park, here on Saturday, February 4 at 3.30pm.

 

Chandrasekhar Rao, general manager, Karnataka Bank was the chief guest.

 

‘By birth every individual has got some qualities; some may be good in academic qualifications and others may be in other activities,’ said Rao emphasizing on how every individual has his or her own caliber. But he also opined how today’s young generation has hardly any time to focus on any artistic endeavors and thus fests help bring their talents to the limelight. He also spoke of how Karnataka Bank has always contributed towards the betterment of the society.

‘A misplaced bone is more painful than anything, but if it is in its proper place it functions very well. Similarly if you as students are able to place yourself in a proper place-we shine,’ said Fr Swebert D’Silva in his presidential address. He also congratulated all the staff and student coordinators for putting forth such an event which develops self-confidence, creativity and overall persona in an individual. ‘Once we start believing in ourselves we can do great things and once we start believing in our group we can do wonders,’ he quoted highlighting the importance of teamwork. Concluding, he reminded it’s not enough to win prizes but we all must be loving people too.

 

The trophies for the overall winners of 7 individual Fests were awarded by Rao.

 

Amidst all the cultural and artistic programmes in the college, the Journalism department of St Aloysius College successfully unveiled their newsletter, Vakmya.

 

A M Narahari, Registrar, St Aloysius College (autonomous), Dr Alwyn D’Sa, vice-principal of arts faculty, John D, vice-principal of commerce faculty, Michelle D’Souza, Student Council president and the staff and student co-ordinators of the seven fests were also present on the dais.
