Shirva Parishioners celebrate Annual Feast of Our Lady of Health Church with devotion and gai

Shirva, 05 Feb 2017: The Annual Feast of Our Lady of Health Shirva parish was celebrated with great devotion on Wednesday the 1st February 2017.

 

The grand celebration began with distribution of blessed candles and then followed by the Eucharistic Mass by main celebrant Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza (Parish Priest of Kundapur) accompanied by many priests from the neighbouring parishes, resident priest and Parish Priest of Shirva Parish Rev. Fr. Stany Tauro.

 

In his meaning homily Fr. Anil narrated that God has provided us a great opportunity to experience His love, his kindness and forgivness and to accept his blessings in our family and parish. It is also an opportunity to us thank God for his abundant blessings bestowed upon us through Our Lady of Health. This feast brings all families of the parish together as a single family and hence, lets utilize this unique opportunity to be united with all the families of the parish and be a role model and love our neigbours through our kind deeds and service.

 

 

Fr. Stany Tauro thanked all the parishioners for attending the feast in large numbers, the organizers, the parish council members esp. Wilson D’Souza (VP Parish Council) and Leena Machado (Gen Secretary) for taking care of each and every task. The resident priests Fr. Canute Noronha (Asst. Parish Priest and Fr. Mahesh D’Souza (In charge of Don Bosco English Medium School and new CBSE syllabus school building).

 

Fr. Tauro also announced that there are two projects are proposed in the current year i.e. 1) a CBSE school and a new Parish for Pillar. He requested everyone’s support for these projects and prayers to accomplish successfully.

 

The church choir rendered melodious hymns throughout the ceremony.

 

Large number of stalls and ice-cream vans were serving variety of ice creams and kids enjoyed all types of games until evening. ICYM organized interesting games in their stalls.
