Mangaluru: Social reformers immensely enriched Kannada - Prof Ramaswamy

Mangaluru, 29 Jan 2017: Several social reformers have enriched Kannada by their messages in the bygone era. However, Kannada’s growth has been shunted at the present times, chiefly because the migrants does not love Kannada and native Kannadigas’ have not done honest attempts to instill love towards their mother tongue Kannada. We got to take concrete measures in addressing this trend, said Professor C Ramaswamy, administrator of Mysore University.
Professor Ramaswamy was speaking after inaugurating sixth Kannada Chintana Programme that was jointly organized by Kannada Development Authority and city-based Manjunath Education Trust at Women’s ITI auditorium, Bondel, here on Saturday, January 28.
Hrudayavahini – Karnataka president K P Manjunat Sagar in his preliminary address said that Kannada Development Auithority has been organizing Kannada Chintana Programmes in different cities and towns across Karnataka, in order to brighten the prospect of Kannada.
Sri Krishna Bhajan Mandir secretary Shekar Shetty, litterateur Chandrashekar Gatti Boloor and Women’s ITI principal A Balakrishna also spoke on the occasion.
Gelatiyaru Mangaluru troupe presented Kannada singing programme.
Shivakumar welcomed the gathering. Lokesh Sunkadakatte compered the programme.
