Mumbai: Raj Bhavan staff pays rich tributes to Radha Sankaranarayanan

Mumbai, 25 Dec 2016: Officers and staff of Raj Bhavan, Maharashtra paid rich tributes to Radha Sankaranarayanan at a condolence meeting held at Raj Bhavan, here on Saturday, December 24.
Radha Sankaranarayanan, wife of former Governor of Maharashtra K Sankaranarayanan passed away in Palghat, Kerala on Saturday, December 24 early morning.
K Sankaranarayanan was the Governor of Maharashtra from January 2010 to August 2014. The couple had stayed at Mumbai Raj Bhavan for nearly four and half years during Mr Sankaranarayanan’s tenure in Maharashtra.
Secretary to the Governor Venugopal Reddy, Deputy Secretary Parimal Singh, Comptroller Vasant Salunke and PRO Umesh Kashikar made references to the glorious contributions made by Radha Sankaranarayanan to the beautification of Raj Bhavans in Maharashtra located at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur in their condolence speeches. They also referred to her work for employee welfare.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Secretary Parimal Singh said, ‘Radha Madam was like mother to the entire Raj Bhavan family. Her resplendent face reflected her transparent and caring nature. She would often visit staff quarters to participate in happy occasions or to enquire about them when they were distress or sorrow.’
A 2 – minutes silence was observed and floral tributes were paid to the portrait of Radha Sankaranarayanan by the employees of Raj Bhavan.
