Mumbai: Model Bank distributes scholarship to needy students

Mumbai, 15 Dec 2016: One can lead dignified living by means of education. The students ought to be competitive in shaping their future to lead meaningful living. If one gets educated and helps others in this endeavor, it would help in nation building, said Model Bank founder chairman John D’Silva.
John was speaking during the scholarship distribution programme that was organized by Model Co-operative Bank, originally founded by Mangalorean forefathers of coastal Karnataka in Mumbai as Mangalorean Catholic Co-operative Credit Society Limited over a century ago, at Xavier Engineering College auditorium, Mahim (West), here on Wednesday, December 14 evening.
The Bank chairman Albert W D’Souza presided the programme. In his presidential address, Albert urged the students to make use their faculties in excelling in life and career.
St Xavier Engineering College principal Dr Y D Venkatesh was the chief guest distributed the scholarship to the students.
The Bank directors Thomas D Lobo, Vincent Mathias, chartered accountant Paul Nazareth, A Clement Lobo, Sanjay Shinde, Marita D’Mello, advocate Pius Vas, Gerald Cardoza, CEO and general manager William L D’Souza were present at the dais.
The senior manager Zaner D’Cruz, HRD manager Bieta Carvallo, heads of different branches was also present.
Edward Rasquinha compered the programme. The additional general manager Herold M Serrao proposed vote of thanks.
