Cultural Extravaganza mark the Annual Day Inaugural ceremony at St. John’s Academy, Shankerpur

Shankerpura/Pangla, 10 Dec 2016: The mesmerizing cultural extravaganza marked the grand inaugural function of the Annual Day celebrations of the St. John’s Academy and St. John’s Composite PU College on Thursday 8th December 2016.
The grand event began with a warm welcome of the guests of honour by namely Ms. Juliet Veera D’Souza (President, Katpady Gram Panchayat), Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Leslie D’Souza (Correspondence, St. John’s Academy), Rev. Fr. Vincent Coello (Principal-PU College), Mr. Gabriel F. Mascarenhas (HM-High School-English Medium) Mr. Mark Vaz (VP Parish Council), Mr. Mohandas Shetty (HM High School, Kannada Medium), Ms. Irene D’Souza (HM, Primary Kannada Medium), Sr. Winnie D’Souza (HM, Primary, Academy), Mr. John Rodrigues (PTA-Primary), Ms. Linet D’Souza (President PTA-High School-Academy) & Mr. Patkar(President PTA-High School) accompanied by drum beats of St. John’s Band.
The inaugural ceremony began with a prayer by English medium girls invoking God’s blessing on the auspicious occasion. Mr. Gabriel Mascarenhas accorded a warm welcome to all the honourary guests on dais and felicitated with the floral bouquets. Ms. Juliet Veera D’Souza hoisted the Academy Flag accompanied by all the guests on dais and she wished all success for the day-long celebrations and congratulated all the teaching staff, students, and administrators on the occasion.
Prize distribution ceremony was done for all the students who won prizes in various games conducted on the occasion and other school/college activities and competitions. Fr. Leslie in his presidential address congratulated the students and the staff on the annual day and highlighted their various achievements and felt proud of them. Speaking to students he said: “I’m very proud of you my dear students. You have excelled in every friend, you are smart, well disciplined and look great in your blue informs which symbolizes, unity and happiness.” He also thanked the teachers for their selfless service throughout the year and their dedication to bring out the best in students and was grateful for them.
Mr. Vijay Shetty (Teacher) proposed the vote of thanks.
The Kannada Medium students presented various cultural programs after the inaugural session separately in Sabha Bhavan of St. John’s Church which was applauded by the guests and parents of the students.
