Muhurath of new Konkani Movie Janet productions ’Sophiya’ held at Palimar

Palimar, 12 Nov 2016: In a glittering ceremony the Muhurath of new Konkani Movie “Sophiya” (A dream girl) acted by famous Konkani Kannada movie actress Ester Noronha was held at St. Joseph’s Home for aged in Palimar on Saturday 12th November 2016.

 

Producer Ms. Janet Noronha accorded a hearty welcome to the gathering and thanked the director Harry Fernandes (Barkur) director of recently released film Nashibacho Khell  and other crew members of the movie and all the artists and supporters. She was welcomed Rev. Fr. Sunil Veigas (Parish Priest Belman), Rev. Fr. Charles Noronha(Parish Priest Palimar). She also welcomed the chief guest of the day Mr. Jitendra Furtado, President of Palimar Panchayat.

 

Fr. Sunil led a small prayer and blessed the team and wished God’s blessings on the movie production. Thanked Ms. Janet for taking this bold step to promote Konkani movie for the konkani people.

 

Mr. Jitendra Furtado spoke on the occasion said that in other languages big budget films are produced and they can recover their costs but in Konkani it is not possible. However, Janet has taken a big risk to support her daughter and other many artists to act in this movie.  She definitely needs our great support for the movie to be very successful. He further said let this new konkani movie spread a good message to the society.

 

Harry Fernandes introduced the artists and briefed about the movie. He said that Janet has taken this risk to produce this film for the love of konkani language and support a lot of local artists.  Many local artists will get chance to act in this movie. He also requested if anyone is interested to act in this movie (talented actors) they can contact Ms. Janet immediately and they will definitely give chance if they are capable.  The shooting will be held in the Palimar vicinity for a few days starting from today. He requested all konkani people come together and make this movie a great success. The movie will be released in May 2017.

 

 

 

Fr. Charles Noronha (Uncle of Ester Noronha) did the Muhurath of the movie “Sophiya” by giving CLAP. MC Floyd D’Mello Cascia conducted the Muhurath ceremony.

 

Ester Noronha proposed vote of thanks wherein she thanked her mom, her uncle Fr. Charles Noronha, Fr. Sunil Veigas and director for their great support and her father Valerian Noronha for his unending support. She specially thanked four families for providing accommodation for all them and crew members Quadras Family, Mendonsa Family, Victor and Leena and especially Ms. Teresa D’Sa for providing accommodation for her family members where they will be put up for a few days during shooting of the movie in Palimar vicinity. She also thanked Sisters of St. Joseph Convent for provide location for shooting the first shorts of the movie and media representatives.

 

The movie Sophiya (A dream Girl) is a Romantic Thriller, story script and direction by Harry Fernandes Barkur. Asst. Director Roystan Bolkunje,.  Camera Man Mr. Shafeeq Sheikh, Action: Sunil Rodrigues, Music by Gunvant Sen and singers will be Ester Noronha, Gunvant Sen and Antony Tauro.

 

The movie will be acted by Ester Noronha (Heroin) and supported two young actors Elton Mascarenhas and Shelton Crasta. Other actors are Stany Alvares, Roystan Bolkunje, Francis Oliviera  (Padukone) and Floyd D’Mello. In the comedy role Prince Jacob Bombay. The movie will be shot in Palimar, Udupi, Kundapur, Manipal, Mangalore and Chickmagalore. Movie will be released in May 2017.
