KMF launches Nandini brand cow’s milk/products in Mumbai

Mumbai, 21 Oct 2016: Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited (KMF) strengthened the neighborly relations between Karnataka and Maharashtra by extending its business operations in Mumbai. Both the states enjoy cordial relations as Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who is icon of Maharashtra is being worshiped by Kannadigas across Karnataka. It has further strengthened its bond by allowing free market space for Nandini brand of milk products in Mumbai. Cow’s milk is nutritious after mother’s milk. The people trust the quality of Nandini that would be available to the people in Maharashtra. KMF launching of Nandini product will be boon to Mumbaikars, said Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade. 

 

Heggade was speaking after launching Nandini brand of milk that is the second top brand in the country produced by KMF, during the function held at Sahara Star Hotel, Santacruz (East) here on Wednesday, October 19.

 

 

Karnataka veterinary research and silk minister A Manju inaugurated the programme here on Wednesday evening. 

 

Borivali MP Gopal C Shetty launched Nandini brand Trupti milk, while minister Manju launched Nandini brand curd to the market. 

 

KMF director and Bellary MLA M P Ravindra, Tunga Group of Hotels managing director Sudhakar S Hegde, AHAAR president Adarsh Shetty, KMF honorary chairman P Nagaraju, Tumakuru Milk Producers Union honorary president Kondavadi Chandrashekar, KMF managing director Rakesh Singh were present at the dais.

 

Speaking on the occasion, minister Manju said, KMF was originally founded with 4 district of Karnataka in 1975, now has business operations in 8 districts, while the daily milk production was 69,000 that has reached 72 lac liters now. KMF is the number one brand in producing cow’s milk in the country. It has launched its Nandini brand of milk in Mumbai not to compete but to meet the growing demand for milk in Mumbai. It serves both the needs of customers in Mumbai and interests of dairy farmers in Karnataka. KMF will supply 5 lac liters of milk and dairy products every day to Mumbai,’ said minister Manju. 

 

MP Gopal Shetty and P Nagaraju also spoke on the occasion.

 

KMF director Kaup Divakar Shetty, AHAAR former president Chandrahas K Shetty, KMF director and Tumakuru Milk Producers Union director – entrepreneur Sadanand Shetty Worli, Dharmapal U Devadiga, Nityanand D kotian, Dharmapal Anchan, S K Sriyan, Suresh Shetty Yeyyady, Ratnakar Shetty Morla and others were present.

 

P Nagaraju welcomed the gathering. Tributes were paid to the late Dr Varghese Kurian, father of milk co-operative movement in India by garlanding flowers to his portrait before beginning the function. Prajakta Joshi rendered the prayers. Vidhula Ingle compered the programme. KMF – Mangaluru president Raviraj Hegde proposed vote of thanks.
