Mangaluru: Auction held for MPL-2016 in city from Dec 17 to 30

Mangaluru, 09 Oct 2016: The players’ auction for the upcoming Mangalore Premier League -2016 was held at Forum Fiza Mall, here on Friday, October 8. The Cricket Tournament is being organized by Karnataka Regional Cricket Academy, in association with Occasionals Mangalore and with the approval of Karnataka State Cricket Association from at B R Ambedkar Stadium, NMPT, here from December 17 to December 30.

 

In the Auction, 12 franchises are taken part: Surathka Strikers, Coastaldigest Mangaluru, United Ullal, Udupi Tigers, Karavali Warriors, President Sixers Kundapura, Kankanady Knight Riders, Team Elegant Moodbidri, Red Hawks Kudla, Karkala Gladiators, Spark Avengers Bolar, and Maestro Titan.

 

The organizers have divided the players into four pools.   In the ‘Icon’ pool 34 for players of the state who played in the KPL and first class cricket were there.   Purse of Rs 2.50 lac were allotted to each team. The franchises were given the opportunity to nominate the owners choice player.

 

 

 

In the Auction from the Icon pool,  Naveen MG sold to Udupi Tigers for maximum limit prize of  Rs 75,000, Thaha to Costaldigest for Rs 73,000 and Jeeshan for Rs 70,000.00 to Surathkal Strikers, Sadik Kirmani for Rs 65,000.00 to United Ullal, Deekanshu Nege for Rs 60,000 to Spark Avengers, K B Pawan for Rs 42,000 to Karkala Gladiators.

 

Rahul Kotian, Lal Sachin, Rithesh Bhatkal, Sinan, Jahur, Sachin Bhat  were sold for the maximum fixed prize of Rs 50,000  from the A pool.

 

The players sold from A pool for more than Rs 20,000 are: Suhail, Adithya Rai, Manoj, Bipin K P, Pawan Gokhale, Nehal, Vrijesh, Mashuk, Nelsaon Pinto, Gaurav, Vikram, Ashish Dhar, Ibrahim Athradi.

 

The Kankanadi  Knight Riders purchased  Shivraj for Rs 56,000. Nikhil Kamath, Ayyappa, Abhilash Shetty, Sathyaswarup, Mutahir were sold for more than Rs 20,000 from B pool.

 

Arjun Kapikad, movie actor, Zaheer from Almuzain company, Ismail of Realtech, Rathan Kumar, chairman KSCA, Mangaluru Zone, Sasidar Kodical, Sattar, Ifthikar, Mansoor, Yashpal Suvarna, Shukoor Saheb.
