Karkala, 06 Oct 2016: The women were much revered in Indian culture. The ancient people believed the God dwells among them when they revere women. She was worthy to worship. She was worshipped with precious perfumes during nine-day ritual of Navaratri. The women played key role in India’s freedom struggle. The women have divine energy. She is surging in every sphere of society. The baby girl is the treasure of our country, said Udupi ZP vice president Sheela K Shetty.
Sheela was speaking after inaugurating Kanya Puja that was organized by BJP Mahila Morcha – Belman Shakti Kendra at Ashwattakatte, Padubelman, near here on Wednesday, October 5.
Sheela said that 21st century is of women, while it’s the duty of mothers in culturally bringing up their children and develop good character.
Belman gram panchayat president Mallika Rao presided the programme.
The little girls were offered precious perfumes, dresses, pearl set, mementoes after their worship.
ZP member Reshma Udayakumar Shetty Inna was felicitated for being elected as member of BJP national Mahila Morcha.
Karkala TP president Malini Shetty, taluk Mahila Morcha president Pramila Harish, TP member Asha Devendra Shetty, TP vice president Gopal Moolya were the chief guests conveyed best wishes.
