Bantwal: Swacch Bharat campaign to make India defecation-free by 2019 - Minister Jigajinagi

Bantwal, 24 Sep 2016: Swacch Bharat campaign that was launched by PM Narendra Modi will aimed to make India defecation-free nation by 2019, said union minister for state water and cleanliness Ramesh Jigajinagi.
Addressing the media persons during the Mangalore varsity symposium at Sri Rama First Grade College, Kalladka, near here on Friday September 23, minister Jigajinagi said, ‘over 11.11 crore in the country have no proper toilet facilities that will be provided by the government in stages,’ said minister Jigajinagi.
The pilot project has been embarked on in 100 historical areas in the country and the motion was set at Kalikadevi temple, Guwahati in Assam in this regard. It will be completed by 2019. The union government has decided to observe October 2 as World Cleanliness Day and November 19 as World Toilet Day. Besides, the measures are being taken to supply tap water 60 percent of population by 2022, said minister Jigajinagi.
Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, district BJP SC unit president Dinesh Amtoor, ZP former member Chennappa Kotian, Sri Rama Vidya Kendra chairman Narayana Somayaji were present.
