Bengaluru: BKCS convenes AGM; elects William Pinto as President

Bengaluru, 21 Sep 2016: Bangalore Konkani Catholic Sangh® (BKCS) held its annual general body meeting at St Anthony’s Friary Church Hall here on Sunday September 18.
The Holy Mass in Konkani was celebrated by Fr Richard Menezes and Fr Alphonse Moras with 150 Konkani Catholics participants.
After the Mass compere Alban D’Souza, joint secretary welcomed the gatherings. William Pinto, president, Alwyn Rasquinha, secretary, Maxim Lobo, treasurer and Menderline Machado, past president presided the programme. The gathering has observed one-minute silent for the departed souls of fellow members of Association.
Dr Fulton D’Souza read the minutes of last meeting. Secretary presented the report of the events and achievements of the organization from September 2015 to August 2016. Maxim Lobo, treasurer submitted the report of annual accounts to the members. An appeal was made by treasurer and president to change the auditor for the better results in keeping the accounts details and it was passed by the members.
Suggestions and opinions were collected from the members of the association in the view of its future programme. Ten members have expressed their views on the increasing of registration fees and gave their views to increase the members for the organization.. Dennis Pereira and Lulu’s were honored for their excellent service towards BKCS and Konkani Language.
As the routine, every two years BKCS elects its new office bearers. This year the election was held with the guidance of Mark D’Souza, as election officer. The newly-elected office bearers were:
President: William Pinto
Vice President: Maria Pinto
Secretary: Alwyn Rasquinha
Joint Secretary: Alwyn Coreah
Treasurer: Maxim Lobo
The new Committee has 25 executive members who are newly-elected by the members. Alwyn Rasquinha delivered the vote of thanks. Meeting was concluded with high lunch which was prepared by youths and members of the association.
Alban was the master of ceremony for the programme. William Pinto, president, Alwyn Rasquinha, secretary and Menderline Machado, former president, were present on the stage.
