Karkala: UPCL - Adani Group lays concrete road at Adamar at Rs 20 lac

Karkala, 19 Sep 2016: The newly-laid concrete road in Adamar village by Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL), owned by Adani Group under corporate social responsibility (CSR) was inaugurated here on Saturday September 17.
Tenka gram panchayat president Aruna Kumari and UPCL joint president Kishore Alva inaugurated the 300 meter stretch of concrete road here on Saturday morning.
The concrete road was laid upon the pleas of locals and village council to UPCL that has undertaken the works under CSR at a cost of Rs 20 lac.
Aruna Kumar thanked Adani – UPCL for developing the road that is a boon to local people.
Speaking on the occasion, Kishore Alva said, ‘Adani – UPCL is executing several works under CSR for rural development,’ said Alva. It has announced Rs 22.73 crore for improving infrastructure in 7 gram panchayat that lies nearby the power plant. Meanwhile, the works will be further undertaken upon submitting the plans by the local village council within 2 years, added Alva.
Tenka gram panchayat vice president Kishore Kumar, members Balachandra, Jayasri Harish, Ratnakar Kotian, Anita A Nayak, Saira Banu, Adani – UPCL assistant general manager Girish Navada, managers Ravi Jireh and Vasant Kumar, Adani Foundation staff Vineet Anchan, Sukesh Suvarna and Anudeep Poojary were present.
