Karkala: Udupi & Kundapura Schools win District Pry & High School volleyball Tourney

Karkala, 17 Sep 2016: The district-level primary and high school volleyball tournament that was hosted by St Joseph’s Higher Primary School, Belman, in collaboration with Udupi ZP, public instructions department and office of block education officer was concluded on Friday September 16.
The boys’ team of St Lawrence English Medium School, Moodubelle, won the championship. Government Model Higher Primary School, Hebri, here were the runner up.
The girls’ team of Badakare Higher Primary School of Kundapura won the championship. Government Higher Primary School of Basri Bailoor, were the runner up.
The boys’ team of Government High School, Valakadu, in Udupi won the championship. Bearys High School, Kundapura were the runner up.
The girls’ team of Milagres College, Kallianpur of Brahmavar won the championship. Government High School, Valakadu in Udupi were the runner up.
The co-sponsor Adani Group - UPCL chief executive officer Kishore Alva distributed the trophies to the winners on the occasion.
St Joseph’s School correspondent Fr Sunil Joseph Veigas presided the valedictory function. Belman assistant parish priest Fr Joswin Praveen D’Souza was the chief guest of the occasion.
UPCL assistant manager Ravi Jireh, Spandana TV Channel managing director Vilas Nayak, Srinivas Engineering College lecturer Srinat, Belman gram panchayat member Prabhakar Shetty, district physical education director Madhukar S, Karkal taluk physical education superintendent Siddappa S, Brahmavar block physical education director Bhujanga Shetty, Udupi block physical education director S Patil, Karkala taluk physical education teachers Association president Haridas Prabhu, former physical education superintendent Babu Poojary, St Joseph’s English Medium School head teacher Lucy Pereira, physical education honorary teacher Harshendra Kumar Jain were present at the dais.
The teacher Vincent Pinto welcomed the gathering. The district-level volleyball tournament convener B Pundalika Marate thanked the sponsors and umpires. The high school physical education teacher Haridas Prabhu proposed vote of thanks.
