Foundation Stone laid for the new CBSE building of Don Bosco School Shirva by Bishop Gerald Lobo

Udupi/Shirva, 07 Sep 2016: The Foundation stone laying ceremony was held for the new CBSE building of Don Bosco English Medium School at Shirva on Wednesday the 7th September 2016 by Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese.

 

The permission for starting the CBSE education has been granted to Don Bosco English Medium School recently a new most modern building with all facility to provide up to date education to the new students of CBSE School is necessary said Bishop Gerald on the occasion. He said that when permission was granted to start St. Mary’s PU College there no finance and Rs.150,000/- was need for registration and it was fulfilled by most generous people when he visited three houses back in 1970s. Likewise there is nothing in the finance fund to start the building but the people of Shirva and other donors it is possible to fulfill this dream and with God’s blessings nothing is impossible.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prior to the laying of foundation stone, Holy Eucharistic Mass was offered at 8:30am by main celebrant Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo accompanied by Rev. Fr. Stany Tauro, Parish Priest and Correspondence St. Mary’s Educational Institutions, Rev. Fr. Lawrence D’Souza (Secretary, CESU), Rev. Fr. Felix Serrao, Rector Don Bosco Youth Centre, Rev. Fr. Mahesh D’Souza (Head Master Don Bosco English Medium School) and Rev. Fr. Kevin Noronha (Asst. Parish Priest).

 

The foundation stone laying ceremony began at 9:30am with a beautiful procession led by Don Bosco Student’s band escorting the eminent guests to the dais where the Foundation stones were laid to be blessed. A short stage function was held which began with a prayer and Fr. Stany Tauro accorded a warm welcome to Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo and all the priests and leaders of Shirva namely Mr. Wilson D’Souza (VP Parish Council) and Mr. Wilson Rodrigues, President Jilla Panchayat Udupi and students and media personnel.

 

Bishop conducted the prayer service and blessed the stones. Fr. Lawrence D’Souza addressed the gathering and said that Saint Mother Teresa when she started Missionaries of Charity with only Rs. 5/- in her hand and today with God’s blessing the sister are serving all over the globe with 4000 nuns serving and taking care of the poorest of the poor. Likewise, there is nothing to worry about the finance but definitely efforts are required but he said all the student need not to worry about finance but pray for the success of the school. The primary goal is to provide value based education so that we have finest educationists in the future to come from Don Bosco CBSE English Medium School of Shirva.

 

The vote of thanks was proposed by School Teacher Ms. Irene Rodrigues.

 

Finally the laying of foundation stone ceremony took place at the new building site behind the current Don Bosco School. It was performed by Bishop Gerald Lobo wherein he blessed the stones and prayed for the success of the construction of the new building. The stones were laid by Bishop Gerald Lobo followed by Fr. Lawrence D’Souza, Fr. Stany Tauro and all other priests.
