Mumbai: St Xavier’s High School, Borivali (W) remembers martyrs on I-Day

Mumbai, 16 Aug 2016: St Xavier’s High School, Borivali (West) here celebrated 70th I-Day at their school premises on Monday at 8:00am.
Babasaheb Kulkarni, Jaimuni Dave, Vikas Pandey, Richa Jain, Kanchan Tendulkar, Vasanthi Natarajan, Namrata Dedhia were the chief guests of the occasion.
It started with Guard of honor followed by the Word of God, Prayer.
The guest Babasaheb Kulkarni unfurled the Indian tricolor Flag with full respect. The tricolor flag was given honor by saluting it and singing of the National Anthem followed by National Pledge.
The display of the march-past by various squads was spectacular. There was a wonderful display by the girl’s band. Pastor Adrian Lopes said the special prayer and blessed the occasion. The prayer song, welcome speeches in various languages welcome song was praise worthy, but the patriotic song and dance and the skit added the colors of unity and togetherness.
The Patriotic Dance presented by the Pre-Primary section enthralled the audience to the tune of the pulsating music. The celebrations continued with prize distribution, where young achievers were felicitated for their achievements in various fields of learning. They were encouraged to be the model citizens oftomorrow.
The programme was concluded after the guests praising young learners for the hard work and dedication towards their mother country. The function concluded with vote of thanks, closing chorus and school anthem.
