Bantwal: Miscreants damage mid-day meals kitchen at Kanyana School

Bantwal, 01 Aug 2016: Miscreants damaged the huge glass doors of mid-day meals kitchen of Government Higher Primary School, Kanyana, here on Sunday July 31 night.
The miscreants also damaged the overhead water tank and pipes in the toilets by making holes using pickaxe. They also damaged toilet seats dumping stones.
The School celebrated their centenary a few months ago. Mid-day meal kitchen was built at the School by the contributions of public instruction department and local residents to commemorate the centenary celebrations. The district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai inaugurated the facility.
The miscreants act was came to light when the teachers arrived at School on Monday August 1 morning.
ZP member M S Mohammed, Kanyana gram panchayat president Devaki, vice president K P Abdul Rehman, Kanyana Government PU College chairman Abubakkar Siddiq Poyyagadde, Kanyana PDO Vijayashankar Alva, gram panchayat members visited the School to view the damage.
The School designated headmaster Suryanarayana and School betterment Committee president Radhakrishna K lodged complaint with Vittal police in this regard.
Kanyana is classified as communally-sensitive area and untoward incidents were reported now and then. The locals are apprehensive over the incident, as it might have been done by a few destructive people or were high on booze.
