Mumbai: Bhandary community celebrates Aatidonji Dina with family get-together

Mumbai, 01 Aug 2016: Bhandary community is known for genrousity and friendly. The gathering of community indeed strengthens the bond. The cultural upbringing of children will lay strong foundation for the community to excel in society. Aati month observed by the natives of coastal district rejuvenates both health and spirits in deep-rooted religious belief. It has strengthened the family set up in India. The society is free from addiction brings prosperity, said Swami Esha Vittaldas.
Swami Esha was speaking during Aatidonji Dina and Bhandary Kutumbotsav held at Bunts Bhavan, Kurla (East), here on Sunday July 31. It was organized by World Bhandary Federation.
Moodbidri - Alvas Education Foundation® chairman Dr M Mohan Alva and Udupi - Tulukoota president Indrali Jayakar Shetty were the chief guests inaugurated the programme by unfurling the new shoot of areca tree.
Kacchoor – Nageshwar temple governing council chairman Suresh S Bhandary Kadandale presided the programme.
Ujwal Developers chairman Purushottam Shetty, Kalajagattu Mumbai® president Tonse Vijayakumar Shetty, CREDAI Udupi chairman Gerry Vincent Dias, DK/Udupi district fisheries Federation president Yashpal Suvarna, Bhandary Mahamandala president Sadashiv Bhandary Sakleshpur were the guests of honor.
Variety shows that depicted Aati celebrations including Tulu play, Kusal was staged by Mangaluru-based Lakumi theater group.
Kacchur – Nageshwar temple governing council honorary general secretary Somashekar M Bhandary, treasurer Bannanje Sanjeev Bhandary, vie presidents U Ganesh Bhandary Haleyangady and Varalaxmi Nagesh, joint secretary Poornima S Bhandary, joint treasuer Varija V Bhandary and others were present.
Shobha Suresh Bhandary accorded traditional welcome to Swami Esha. Sadashiv Bhandary Sakleshpur, Satish Bhandary Kadabettu, Subash Bhandary, Ashok Kumar Bhandary, Balakrishna Bhandary Pune welcomed the gathering by traditionally offering plateful of beetle leaves and bits of arecanuts. Arpita P Shetty Katpady and Sudhkar Bhandary Bannanje compered the programme. Somashekar M Bhandary proposed vote of thanks. Amita Girish Bhandary rendered the prayers.
