Bantwal: Jago Billawas, Billawa Brigade launched to garner political significance

Bantwal, 31 Jul 2016: The coastal Billawa community got significance in history. Meanwhile, its irony that despite centuries passed, Billawa community still remained backward. The entire community got to be aware of this fact, said Billawa Mahamandala national spokesperson Harikrishna Bantwal.
Harikrishna was delivering keynote address during the launching of Jago Billawas, Billawa Brigade during a function held at Narayana Guru auditorium, B C Road, here on Sunday July 31. It was organized by Bantwal taluk Billawa Samaja Seva Sangha.
Billawas are not up for grabbing others rights, never are selfish to impose on others that has contributed for Billawa community to remain backward, said Harikrishna. He appealed the community brethrens to focus energies on gaining political recognition. He recalled Dr B R Ambedkar’s advocacy that progress will be difficult without caste prominence.
Billawa Sangha president Sesappa Kotian presided the programme and launched Jago Billawas, Billawas Brigade on the occasion.
The former MLA A Rukmaya Poojary, leader Raghava Amin, women wing president Bharati B Kundar, Shankar Kayarmar, Mahabala Bangera and Timmappa Poojary were present at the dais.
Billawa Sangha general secretary Baby Kundar welcomed the gathering. Gopal Anchan compered the programme.
