Baroda: Tulu Sangha presents Tulu Chavadi, to unite brethrens from across India

Baroda, 18 Jul 2016: Tulu is not just a language but it’s a way of life that is free from caste, creed and faith. The World Tulu Convention brought global recognition to Tulu and further enhanced its status by Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade. Meanwhile, at the prevailing times, the natives of Tulunadu are not sustaining Tulu, instead the natives of Tulunadu settled in other states across India and overseas are indeed fostering Tulu, said Dr Ganesh Amin Sankamar, the lecturer of St Aloysius College, Mangaluru. 

 

Dr Ganesh was the chief guest speaking during the inauguration of the first ever Tulu Chavadi, the confluence of Tulu natives that was organized by Billawara Sangha Gujarat® at Alkapura, here on Sunday July 17 evening.

 

 

He further said, ‘When the agrarian joint families were divided into small families, it had consequences on rural farming. The sanctity of Tulu is embodied in every native that makes them distinct in facing challenges worldwide in business and any sphere.      

 

Tulu Sangha Baroda® president Sasidar B Shetty Beltangady presided the programme.

 

Mumbai-based Supercare Catering Services Private Limikted managing director Bolnaduguttu Chandrahas M Rai inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Chandrahas called on the gathering to be united in sustaining Tulu culture as the natives are not doing much in this regard.

 

Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkoota® former secretary journalist Rons Bantwal was the guest of honor.

 

Rons Bantwal after launching Whatsapp fundraising experiment said, ‘Tulu natives are indeed revere their tradition and customs wherever they settle down. The upcoming Tuluvere Ayano Koota scheduled to be held in Badiyadka, Kasargod district of Kerala from December 9 to December 13 and Tulu Convention scheduled to be held at Durgaparameshwari temple, Bappanadu, Mulky, near Mangaluru from August 13 to August 14 will further strengthen the mission to promote Tulu and its distinct culture.’    

 

Sasidar Shetty in his presidential address said that he was privileged to attend the Tulu Chavadi event in Baroda.   

 

Billawara Sangha Gujarat® founder S K Haleyangady, honorary president Dayanand Bontra, former president S Jayaram Shetty conveyed best wishes to the event.

 

Tulu Sangha Baroda vice presidents Mahaveer B Jain and K Madhav Shetty, treasurer Vasu P Poojary, joint secretaries Balakrishna Rai and Prashant Hegde, secretary Sarala Shetty, Indudas A Shetty, Madan Kumar Gowda, Sudhakar Shetty, Dhananjay Amin, Krishna A Shetty, Shobha Bontra, Sharmila M Jain, Mohan C Poojary, Sumanlal Kodialbail, Manoj Mohan Poojary, M S Rao Ahmedabad, Ashok Sasihitlu and others were present.

 

Dayanand Salian and group rendered the prayers. The honorary secretary Balakrishna Shetty compered the programme. The women wing president Sharada Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
