Preliminary meeting held in metro ahead of Vishwa Tulu Sammelan in Mulky from Aug 13 to 14

Mumbai, 11 Jul 2016: Tulu is globally recognized regional language that will sustain for long. The mother tongue Tulu thrives when Tulu-speaking community make steadfast efforts to grow globally. The people hailing from undivided Dakshina Kannada district, but settled in Mumbai promoted Tulu. Meanwhile, Tulu will sustain longer when its widely spoken at household families and also used in written communication, said Dharmapal U Devadiga, president of Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkoota.
Devadiga was speaking during the preliminary meeting of Vishwa Tulu Sammelan that will be held at Durgaparameshwari temple premises, Bappanadu, Mulky, in Mangaluru from August 13 to August 14, to commemorate the 4th anniversary of Times of Kudla – Tulu newspaper. The preliminary meeting was held at Narayana Guru auditorium of Billawar Bhavan, Santacruz (East) here on Saturday July 10 evening.
Billawar Association Mumbai® president Nityanand D Kotian, Thiya Samaja Mumbai® president Chandrashekar R Belchada, Dr Sunita M Shetty, B S Kurkal, Surendra Kumar Hegde and Ashok Pakkala were present at the dais.
Times of Kudla – Tulu newspaper publisher S R Bandimar in his presidential address lauded the Tulu-speaking community for conversing in pure Tulu. He urged the gathering to make the success of upcoming Vishwa Tulu Sammelan in Mangaluru.
Babita Shetty, Shambavi Shetty Mucchoor, Bharati Rai, Rajesh D Kotian, Jayakar D Poojary, Narayan Shetty Nandalike, Anand Ail Goregaon, Ashok Sasihitlu, Nilesh B Poojary, S K Sriyan, Chitrapu K M Kotian, Shankar K Suvarna Khar, Dayasagar Chowta, Padmanabha Sasihitlu, Harish Mira Road and others were present.
Sumati R Shetty rendered the prayers. The preliminary meeting convener G T Acharya compered the programme.
