Mangaluru: Former minister Abayachandra urges students to make Alma Mater proud

Mangaluru, 07 Jul 2016: Applauding the impetus St Aloysius College gives to molding young people into leaders and acknowledging the change makers that the college has given to the world, the former minister and chief guest K Abaychandra Jain, in his inaugural address of the Students’ Council 2016-17 at St Aloysius PU College, here on July 2, urged the newly-formed students’ council to make their alma mater proud

 

Presiding over the programme, the Rector of St Aloysius Institutions Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, congratulated the newly elected Students’ Council leaders and motivated them to be great leaders to serve humanity.

 

 

The Principal Fr Melvyn Mendonca SJ said that the leaders should lead by examples and keep up the values learnt by them.

 

The oath was administered by the principal of the College, Fr Melvyn Mendonca SJ. On this special occasion, the annual college magazine was released by the dignitaries. 

 

The vice principal and Students Council director Rekha Alva welcomed the gathering.

 

Dr Ganesh Amin, the Students’ Council assistant director introduced the guest and Dr Pradeep, the Students’ Council, associate director proposed vote of thanks.

 

Gracing the dais also were the newly-elected Students’ Council president Shreyash Seetharam Shetty, secretary Sonal D’Souza and the joint secretary Hazel D’Souza.
