Man’s final rites delayed as wife, child remain untraceable
Davanagere/Mangaluru, 21 Jun 2016: In an incident reported, a man who was admitted at a private hospital in the city a couple of months back breathed his last in his hometown, but the family is not able to perform the final rites as the man’s wife and child are said to be missing.
Manjunath (40) from Davanagere was admitted to Yenepoya Hospital, Derlakatte in April this year. His wife Manjula (35) and daughter Pallavi (14) were with him at that time. However, on April 27, Manjula said that she, along with Pallavi was going to her hometown. But the duo failed to reach home and a complaint was filed at Ullal police station.
Manjunath returned home after treatment, but was worried about his wife and daughter being untraceable. However, he passed away on Monday and his last wish was that his final rites be performed in the presence of his wife and daughter. The family is now in a dilemma as Manjula and Pallavi are not to be found.
