City bus driver assaulted for asking passenger to change seats
Mangaluru, 20 Jun 2016: In an incident reported, a city bus driver was assaulted after he reportedly asked a passenger to change seats. The incident took place on Saturday near Ullal.
It is said that Naveen D’Souza (24), driver of 44 A, Karavali Travels was going towards Ullal. A man identified as Nisar got into the bus at Mukkacherry and sat near the driver. However, Naveen asked Nisar to sit on another seat as girl students would get into the bus at the next stop. Angered by this, Nisar verbally abused Naveen. Nisar went by the same bus to Someshwara and got down at Mukkacherry when the bus was returning.
However, when the bus returned during the next trip, Nisar was waiting at Mukkacherry with three other people who stopped the bus and assaulted Naveen. He suffered injuries and was admitted to a hospital.
A case was registered, but no arrests have been made yet.
